The Shepherd’s Field Project

Did you know that we are more than SFCV? We’re PHF! For the last 24 years, the Philip Hayden Foundation has had the honor of serving babies, toddlers and children with special needs from orphanages all over China by way of our first two projects. Our first project, Langfang Children’s Village, began in 1995 with the founding of our US and China-based
representative offices where our goal was to provide in-kind donations and basic medical and foster care for special needs kiddos. Our second and most successful project to date has been Shepherd’s Field Children’s Village on our seven acre campus outside of Beijing where we’ve lovingly fostered, provided medical and therapy services, as well as special education to some of China’s most needy. With the change in foster care policies last year, our foundation was required to adapt to the changes and to featuresconclude the former SFCV project. Our campus is still open and in use – we just have a new project.

Seven Acres Project

This summer, with the full support of both PHF and Beijing Hidden Treasures Charity Foundation (Puyu), we are launching our third and newest project called Seven Acres. The Seven Acres project will focus on assisting “orphanage graduates” and kids, teens and young adults with physical or cognitive disabilities aged 14 and over who have grown up in the welfare system. Our goal is to train and equip these young people with the skills they need to become successful, independent young adults who can contribute to the community and world around them. As with our other projects, the Seven Acres project will offer residents medical and therapy services, general and special education, and most importantly, a loving home environment. This is a new project that will continue to be on our seven acre campus outside of Beijing.

Two of the core components of our new project will be providing vocational and life-skills training, as well as psychological and trauma counseling as we help these young people grow into independent adults. We are grateful for this new opportunity and we look forward to your continued support as we navigate through this new project.
